Leading construction and property services firm and long-time Community Wood Recycling partner Wates Group has cemented its position as one of the country’s leading supporters of the Social Enterprise sector, reaching a landmark spending target.
Community Wood Recycling is a part of this initiative to connect social enterprises with major corporations, and our relationship with Wates is featured in this report marking the first year of the initiative.
Wates Group have been leading the way in developing links between the construction industry and social enterprise, and we very much value the support they have given us at Community Wood Recycling. They have now been recognised for this work with the award of The Queens Award for Enterprise, Sustainable Development.
Humber Wood Recycling were delighted to get involved in Wates’s Building Futures programme. This is a vocational training programme, aimed at long term unemployed adults, all of whom are disadvantaged, in finding work.
Congratulations to the Wates Group who have been presented with a certificate to recognise 1000 tonnes of wood saved for reuse/recycling.
