EMERGE royal visit

As part of their national train trip the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have visited Fareshare Greater Manchester which is part of EMERGE, the wonderful charity that that also runs our own network member Touch Wood EMERGE.  The workshop staff and volunteers at Touch Wood created this unique herb planter which was presented to their royal visitors, made of the track we reclaimed from the refurbishment of Manchester’s iconic velodrome and decorated with the bee symbol of the city.

We’re delighted that the amazing work done by EMERGE to support vulnerable families in 2020 has been recognised in this way, and we’re proud to have them as members of the Community Wood Recycling network.
