The National Community Wood Recycling Project was delighted to welcome delegates from 16 wood recycling enterprises to our Brighton offices on 21 January 2012.  This was an opportunity for wood recyclers from all over the country to meet up and share good practice, discuss the challenges they face and talk about plans for the future.  It also gave our members the opportunity to meet informally and build regional links.

We are very grateful to Kier – one of the UK’s leading construction companies – for sponsoring the day.  Kier Construction’s Environmental Manager Peter Johnson and Kier Construction – Southern’s Environmental Manager Jade Hunt attended the event and talked to us about how community wood recyclers and builders can develop our work together to save more resources and create more jobs.

Richard Mehmed, Director of NCWRP said “We are enormously grateful to Kier for their sponsorship of this event.  Our members have been extremely positive about the benefit of our gathering, and were particularly pleased to hear firsthand about Kier’s commitment to sustainability and their enthusiasm for our work.”
